Cirque Plus 2025: three days of wonder in the heart of Bruges
12.05.2025
From 25 to 27 July, for the 18th time already, the garden of the Grootseminarie will transform into a magical place where circus, creativity and conviviality come together. It promises to be another atmospheric edition, with a larger evening offering and a strong focus on inclusion. And as always: a festival for everyone!
Circus for everyone - from noon to midnight
Cirque Plus has been a fixture on Bruges' summer agenda for years. In the green garden of the Grootseminarie, visitors can enjoy a wide range of circus performances, interactive installations, workshops and entertainment. Both young and old will find what they are looking for, thanks to a programme full of surprising acts by both emerging and established circus talent.
New this year is an expanded evening programme. Besides the paying performanceMDR - Mort de rire by the Spanish company Los Galindos, there will be free entertainment every evening in the circus tent near the bar. Ideal for ending the day with a drink in hand and a tasty snack from the food stands.
Evenings full of spectacle, humour and talent
Those who descend to Cirque Plus after sunset will be treated to a hefty portion of evening entertainment. On Friday, the Flamingo Sisters bring a hilarious mix of music, circus and relationship therapy. Saturday revolves around burlesque bravado, when Kelly and Dolly take the stage with their extravagant show full of glitter, winks and circus acts. Sunday night will still be a surprise, but we can tell you in advance that the stunt content will skyrocket.
Those who want to make their evening complete combine the free offer with MDR. This intense, visual performance manages to touch with a balance of absurd humour and tender moments. Tickets are available here. If you buy before 16 June, you can get them at our early bird rate of €8 (therene, tickets cost €12). Young people under 26 pay the bargain rate of 8 euros anyway.
Inclusive circus: room for every talent
Cirque Plus is also fully committed to inclusion. Through the project Atelier Parade, (young) adults with physical and/or mental disabilities were given the opportunity to master the circus profession. The result can be admired this summer in the performance PIEDESTAL by Het Scheldeoffensief - a poetic show in which fragility, daring and beauty come together. This free show can be seen on Saturday and Sunday.
Even after the festival, Cirque Plus remains committed to accessible circus. A new series of Atelier Parade starts in September, where participants can choose between theatre or circus classes. Find more info here.
Fun in the neighbourhoods
Even before the festival starts, Uitwijken is already bringing the circus to the Bruges boroughs. From 19 to 23 July, Uitwijken travels through the city with two free performances. The enchanting act Underclouds and the humorous act Piediva provide magical evenings close to home.
