It really hurts when your head hits the concrete

duration: 40 minutes

location: Playground 11

A man drags his companion along like a rag doll. A 70-kilo body bound to him. Lost along the way, they search for a way out—with the rag doll acting as a living Swiss army knife. Tap his head and water pours out, or climb him like a lookout tower to find the right direction. But what happens when your companion suddenly refuses to go any further?

It really hurts when your head hits the concrete humorously and poetically embodies the idea that we all carry a history. This site-specific performance zooms in on the physical internal monologue of a man and his resistant companion. You’ll be immersed in an absurd world where the weight you carry is made visible. Expect a visual whirlwind that reads like a poem, carrying you past moments of acrobatic virtuosity and raw emotion.
